Consumers Will Drive Organic Segment: “In the U.S., the consumer is going to drive the industry going forward,” he said. “In Germany, the government is setting the standards. Our government waited for the industry to develop a standard. Consumers will drive what happens next.”
Staying Informed is Critical: “One of the issues with organic certification is that each certifier is supposed to have a certain level of expertise that covers the product they certify. It’s impossible to get a certifier that’s an expert in every field but they won’t admit it. That’s a problem. That’s not an issue.
